Archeon receives almost €2 million in EU financing to develop the ventilator of the future

In the coming months, Archeon will develop the very first automated emergency ventilator.

The development project is backed by the React EU program and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) as well as the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Region.

During the global Covid-19 pandemic, hospitals were overwhelmed by a large influx of patients and found themselves short of mechanical ventilators. The lack of resuscitation ventilators coupled with the lack of qualified personnel can lead to many casualties.

Archeon will use the funding to develop the world’s first automated emergency ventilator based on artificial intelligence. The device aims to provide autonomous ventilation that will require little to no monitoring, which could improve patient survival and reduce the number of medical staff needed.
